Quentin Tarantino honoured for Django Unchained work

The director, who won the Best Screenplay Oscar for his cult hit Pulp Fiction, will be honoured with the Hollywood Screenwriter Award for his work on the star-studded western, which features Jamie Foxx as a freed slave who sets out for revenge against an evil plantation owner, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Event director Carlos de Abreu tells The Hollywood Reporter, “We are delighted to have this opportunity to celebrate Quentin for his unique and exceptional creative vision.”

Tarantino will join Judd Apatow (Hollywood Comedy Award) and Robert De Niro (Hollywood Supporting Actor Award) as honourees at the Los Angeles ceremony, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on 22 October (12).

Django Unchained will be released in December (12).
