Young, rising actress Anne Hathaway, star of the new film The Princess Diaries, Entertainment Tonight on growing up with acting in her blood–despite her parents’ opinions on the matter.
“By [senior year of high school], I’d done the prom thing, I’d been on tons of sports teams. But my parents didn’t want me to be an actor when I was very little, because they didn’t want it to influence my childhood and they wanted me to look back and say, ‘I was allowed to scrape my knees … I was allowed to run around and not worry about call times and film insurance.'”
