Radio actor Cliff Carpenter dies

U.S. radio actor Cliff Carpenter has died at the age of 98. He passed away in Connecticut on Thursday (09Jan14). No further details of his death have been released.
After starting his career as a radio actor in 1937, he performed on series Terry and the Pirates, providing the voice of the main character Terry Lee.
He served in the U.S. army during World War II, and later worked on Broadway, while also making appearances on TV series such as as The Patty Duke Show and The Defenders.
Carpenter also acted in 2008 movie Synecdoche, New York alongside Philip Seymour Hoffman, and made several appearances on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
