Rapper Future has made history as the first artist to have successive number one debuts on America’s Billboard 200 chart.
HNDRXX, the hitmaker’s sixth studio album, is his fifth chart-topper and the historical placing also makes the 33-year-old the first artist to succeed himself at number one.
Future’s self-titled release last week (ends26Feb17) also placed at the top of the charts. It now sits at number two on the new countdown, making him the first musician in almost a year to have a pair of albums simultaneously sitting in the top two spots. Late superstar Prince was the last artist to achieve the feat weeks following his death last April (16) with The Very Best of Prince and the Purple Rain soundtrack, respectively.
Meanwhile, Bruno Mars‘ 24K Magic drops down a spot to third, while Little Big Town’s The Breaker comes in at number four.
The Trolls soundtrack rounds out the top five.
