Rare Beatles photos discovered in kids charity archive

Rare photos of the Beatles meeting kids during a break from filming A Hard Day’s Night in 1964 have been unearthed in a London charity’s archive. Staff at The Children’s Society discovered the snaps during a recent housekeeping exercise.
The shots were inside a 50-year-old copy of the charity’s newsletter, which featured an article about the Fab Four’s visit to kids at the Society’s Hambro House home, which is no more.
Reports suggest the group visited the home while they were filming at London’s Scala Theatre.
A spokesperson for the charity says, “We no longer run children’s homes but our work supporting disadvantaged children is as important now as it was when those photos were taken 50 years ago.”
Paul McCartney unveiled another previously unseen shot of the Beatles last week (ends15Aug14) as he performed the final show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park.
The shot, taken by revered snapper Jim Marshall, featured the Beatles at the fabled venue during their last U.S. performance in 1966.
