Ray Davies musical coming to London as The Kinks plan 50th anniversary celebrations

A new musical based on The Kinks star Ray Davies’ early life is to open in London next year (14). Stage musical Sunny Afternoon will hit the stage at the Hampstead Theatre. Dates and casting details will be announced in the coming weeks.
The production will feature The Kinks’ hits including 1966 hit Sunny Afternoon, which inspired the title.
Davies previously created a stage musical based around his music, called Come Dancing, which he also appeared in. It is not known if he will take the stage in the new show, which will debut amid celebrations surrounding The The Kinks’ 50th anniversary.
Talk of a band reunion has been in the news lately after Davies and his estranged brother Dave both revealed they had been discussing plans to tour and record new material.
