Reese Witherspoon loses money in house sale

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon ended 2013 by selling her California hone at a loss. The Legally Blonde star purchased the lavish four-bedroom mansion in Ojai, California for $5.8 million (£3.9 million) in 2008, but she failed to find a buyer when she put it on the market for around $10 million (£6.7 million) in 2012.
Witherspoon was forced to slash the price and has now sold the house for just under $5 million (£3.3 million), suffering a loss of approximately $816,500 (£544,333), according to the Realestalker property blog.
The home, which features a barn, horse stables and carriage house, was in the spotlight in 2012 when Witherspoon loaned it to her Water for Elephants co-star Robert Pattinson after his headline-grabbing split from actress girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
