Reggae star Bunny Rugs dies

Reggae star William ‘bunny Rugs’ Clarke has passed away at the age of 65. The singer lost his battle with leukaemia in Florida on Sunday (02Feb14), a week after he left hospital following treatment.
Raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Clarke was a member of successful reggae group Inner Circle before heading to New York.
He took over as frontman of Third World in 1976, and the band went on to enjoy a huge hit with their 1978 rendition of Now That We Found Love, which was a chart success in the U.K. and the U.S.
They also scored a smash with 1982’s Try Jah Love, which was written by Stevie Wonder. Clarke recorded more than 20 albums with the band, as well as six solo records.
Third World’s 40th anniversary tour was marred last year (13) when Clarke pulled out of several shows after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Clarke is survived by his wife and eight children.
