Richard E. Grant has been mugged at a cash point in Cape Town, South Africa.
The London-based actor, who grew up in neighboring Swaziland and went to university in the South African capital, revealed he was robbed while withdrawing money on Friday (29Dec17).

“Feel like a right mug having been mugged at an ATM in Cape Town,” he wrote on Twitter, adding: “Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr”.
Grant’s father was a British government official in Swaziland before the country obtained independence in 1967, and he holds dual British and Swazi citizenship. He returned to see family in Swaziland over the Christmas period before visiting Cape Town.
The 60-year-old has not revealed whether he has contacted police over the incident.
Grant, real name Richard Grant Esterhuysen, began his acting career in South Africa before moving to the U.K. in 1982, where he found fame in the cult 1987 film Withnail and I.
