Rick Derringer pleads guilty to carrying loaded gun on flight

Rocker Rick Derringer has pleaded guilty to taking a loaded gun into a secure area at an airport in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Hang on Sloopy singer was charged with unlawfully entering an airport’s secure area after the gun was found in his carry-on bag on a Delta AirLines flight from Cancun, Mexico last month (Jan17).
Derringer told officials he often flies with a gun – and had never experienced any problems. The guitarist explained he had a pistol permit and thought he could take the gun on airplanes.
He has now pleaded guilty to the offence and has agreed to pay a $1,000 fine (£800), according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
“It was just a mistake, a simple human mistake…,” Derringer’s manager Kenn Moutenot says.
