Rick Ross voices support for jailed Meek Mill

Rapper Rick Ross has vowed to stand by his embattled protege Meek Mill “through the good and bad” after the 27 year old was handed a jail sentence for multiple parole violations. The Ima Boss hitmaker, real name Robert Williams, was ordered to serve three to six months behind bars on Friday (11Jul14) for issues relating to his probation following a 2009 drug and guns conviction.
The ruling was announced just four days after Mill unveiled plans to release his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, in September (14).
His Maybach Music Group (MMG) label boss Ross has now spoken out to address Mill’s personal troubles, urging fans to wait patiently for the hip-hop star’s return.
A statement issued to MTV reads: “I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artist (sic), through the good and the bad.”
Ross adds, “His album is coming. We ask that the fans and the media continue to support him and his music during this time. He’ll be home soon. ‘Dreams Are Worth More Than Money,’ and family is worth more than everything. MMG FOR LIFE.”
