Ricky Gervais fronts animal trade campaign

Funnyman Ricky Gervais is fronting a campaign to stop the illegal trade of wildlife products in his native U.K. The Office creator is urging the British public to hand over souvenirs made from fur, ivory and other animal parts to police officers. The Metropolitan Police in London will also accept items including rhino horn, big cat pelts and reptile skins.
Gervais, an avid animal welfare campaigner, has been recruited to raise awareness of the scheme.
He says, “It’s an opportunity for Londoners to show their support and protect animals from the illegal wildlife trade.”
The souvenirs will be destroyed or used for education purposes.
