Rihanna and Pharrell Williams Applaud Serena Williams’ ‘Lemon’ Dance Video

Rihanna has thanked Serena Williams for “brightening” her day after the tennis ace filmed a video for Vogue magazine dancing to the singer’s new N.E.R.D. collaboration, Lemon.

New mom Serena graces the latest cover of the fashion bible with her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., and as part of the coverage, the athlete shot a fun music video, in which she shows off her moves on an airport runway and onboard a private jet.

The clip was released online on Wednesday (10Jan18), and Rihanna, who was still in mourning after attending her cousin’s funeral in Barbados on Tuesday (09Jan18), was so touched by the dance tribute, she shared it on her own Instagram page.

“woke up to a champ brightening my day like…..,” she wrote. “@serenawilliams this song just got better thanks to you girl #Lemon”.

The video was also highly praised by N.E.R.D. frontman Pharrell Williams, who posted, “Serving (lemon)!!!! You killed it @Serenawilliams!”.

Lemon was released in November (17) and marked N.E.R.D.’s first single in seven years.

Rihanna’s cousin, 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, died from his injuries after he was shot in Barbados on 26 December (17).
