Emmy-winning actor Riz Ahmed is in negotiations to front a modern-day version of Hamlet.
The Night Of star has developed a contemporary movie adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic with writer Mike Lesslie and he is in talks to bring it to streaming service Netflix, according to Deadline.
If Ahmed signs on he would star as the titular character in the movie, which will take place in London during the current political and financial uncertainty.
It isn’t clear when the movie will go into production, but Ahmed will join several actors, including Kenneth Branagh, Ethan Hawke, and Mel Gibson, who have played Hamlet onscreen.
