Robin Thicke: ‘There’s nothing left of my house after wildfire’

Robin Thicke has returned to his Malibu estate after it was ravaged by wildfires, to find “nothing left”.

The Blurred Lines singer’s property is just one of those destroyed by the devastating blaze. Heading back to see the remains, the 41-year-old told Entertainment Tonight that there’s “nothing left” of the home once shared by him, pregnant girlfriend April Love Geary, 23, and their eight-month-old daughter Mia.

“It’s funny, (from what) you see in movies, you’d think there would be one doll left over, or a book of course, something. (But) it’s just rubble,” Robin said. “There’s nothing left. It’s a great community, it’s a community of wonderful people, a lot of parents whose kids go to the same school as my kid. It’s just devastating.”

But despite the devastation, those in the local neighbourhoods have banded together to help others. And seeing such a sense of community has given Robin hope.

“Coming back here, there’s a lot of hope. I see how many homes are standing, (there are) a lot of positive things that a lot of people who had to evacuate don’t know,” he smiled.

Now Robin is already thinking about rebuilding his home.

“Ours didn’t make it, you know… sometimes it happens,” he explained. “We love this area, we love the people here, we love this neighbourhood. Luckily, some of the property is still intact, you know, (it was) just the home.”

Robin also showed his gratitude to the firefighters attempting to combat the blaze by visiting a local fire station, and encouraged others to donate to the cause.
