Actress Robin Wright enjoyed learning the choreography for battle scenes in the new Wonder Woman movie because they were shot like a ballet.

The House of Cards star portrays General Antiope in director Patty Jenkins’ superhero adaptation, and Robin didn’t hesitate to sign on for the powerful role.

“Truthfully, I felt honored that she asked me to be the general of an Amazonian army,” she told Good Morning America. “I was like, ‘Yes! Totally in!'”

The cast is predominantly female, with Gal Gadot as the titular character, and the actresses all trained together to make sure they were in peak physical condition for the shoot.

“The most empowering (thing) was to get in that kind of physical shape…,” Robin shared. “To be around all of those women, all of us supporting one another, cheer-leading one another, wanting everyone to do their very best, was great.”

And the 51-year-old really appreciated the way the fight scenes were planned out and filmed.

“The choreography of these battle sequences, it’s not about the blood and the guts, but it’s success, the win,” she explained. “It’s the art of war and let’s make it a ballet because that’s how women move; it was a dance, while killing four people at the same time!”

But it took the star a little time to feel like an Amazonian warrior on set – she felt a little scrawny when she arrived for the shoot, because her co-stars had been training for two months.

“They were becoming incredible Hulk females and I walk in, like, scrawny, bony me,” she tells WENN with a chuckle. “I’m like, ‘Dude I’m the general!’ I had, like, four weeks to get into shape. The most challenging thing was how much caloric food you had to ingest just to put on mass quickly. That was sickening. And I loved getting injured just from doing too many squats!”
