Rod Stewart’s rare sports car up for auction

Rod Stewart’s rare Lamborghini sports car is set to make around $1.3 million (£850,000) at auction. The veteran singer purchased the right-hand drive Miura SV, one of only seven ever made, for around $12,000 (£8,000) back in 1972 to celebrate the success of his hit single Maggie May.
He had the tape-deck personalised with a recording function so he could take down tunes which came into his head while driving.
The car is described as being in “near perfect condition” and is expected to hit the $1.3 million (£850,000) mark when it goes under the hammer at Bonhams in London on Saturday (14Sep13), according to Britain’s Daily Mirror.
