Rod Stewart’s sons halted adoption dream

Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster’s kids stopped them from adopting.
TV personality and photographer Lancaster revealed she and the rocker seriously considered taking in an orphan, but their plans fell apart because their sons, Alastair and Aidan, didn’t want a new brother or sister.
“We’re getting a puppy instead,” Penny told her Loose Women co-hosts. “We considered adopting but having discussed it with the little ones they said they loved out little brood the way that it is and there might have been too much of an age gap.”
But she admits her husband was up for the idea of adding to their brood, adding, “(He has) eight (kids) all together but we’re fortunate enough to have a big house (and) there’s a spare room, extra love and fun that families need. We thought, ‘Why not give another child that needs a home…’, but it has to be a consideration of the whole family, not just Rod and I.”
The family has taken in a labradoodle instead.
“It’s a mix between a lab and a poodle, so it’s a labradoodle…,” Penny explained. “It’s a girl and it’s blonde, so we think (we’ll name her) Blondie.”
