To be or not to be an ape, that is the question for Tim Roth. You see, the character actor has been offered the part of the head ape in Tim Burton’s remake of “The Planet of the Apes.” But what’s been keeping Roth from jumping at the role is that he’s also expected to play Professor Snape in the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”
The two films are set to go into production at about the same time. No word yet on what the actor is to do.
ROLE ‘RAIDER’: Daniel Craig, who you might or might not remember from “Elizabeth” and “I Dreamed of Africa,” is set to play opposite Angelina Jolie in the video game cum flick “Tomb Raider,” Daily Variety says.
LOVELORN: Rocker-turned-actress Courtney Love might be forced to leave “John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars” due to an injured ankle, Variety reports. Love was cast as a police lieutenant opposite Ice Cube in the project, which starts shooting in early August.
COUCH POTATO: Jake Busey will join the off-beat cast of the indie “Fast Sofa” that includes Jennifer Tilly, Crispin Glover and Adam Goldberg. Busey will play a dude who hits the road in search for his favorite porn star (Tilly).
