Rolling Stones and Wiley up for British music book prize

The Rolling Stones and Wiley have been longlisted for a prestigious British music book prize.
The Rolling Stones: On Air in the Sixties, a book authored by the band and the writer Richard Havers looking back at their TV and radio appearances in the 1960s, is one of 15 nominees for the 2018 Penderyn Music Book Prize.
And British grime star Wiley’s memoir Eskiboy, which follows his rise to top from his days appearing on London pirate radio, is also up for the prize.
Wiley, really name Richard Kylie Cowie Jnr, retweeted a fan who wrote that she was “thrilled” to see him on the Penderyn longlist.
Other musicians up for the accolade include Billy Bragg, who has a book on skiffle music nominated, and Squeeze’s Chris Difford for his memoir.
Meet Me In The Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001 – 2011, Lizzy Goodman’s controversial verbal history of the early 2000s Manhattan rock scene, is also nominated.
A shortlist will be announced in March followed by the winner on 8 April (18).
