Rolling Stones are highest grossing live act since 1990

The Rolling Stones have been crowned the kings of the live stage after grossing more than $1.56 billion from their concerts in the past 24 years. Billboard magazine editors have polled the 25 biggest touring acts since 1990 and the Brown Sugar hitmakers, who are currently on their 14 On Fire world tour, have come out on top, playing a total of 538 shows to more than 19.67 million people around the world.
Irish rockers U2 place second on the Top Live Artists list, banking $1.51 billion over 526 gigs, while Bruce Springsteen comes in third with $1.19 billion over 727 shows.
Madonna and Bon Jovi round out the top five, while Elton John, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Metallica and Coldplay also feature in the survey.
