Rolling Stones will adhere to Hyde Park curfew

The Rolling Stones have promised to obey a strict curfew for their shows in London’s Hyde Park this summer (13) after Bruce Springsteen was famously cut off during his duet with Sir Paul McCartney at the venue last year (12). The veteran rockers will perform two massive gigs in the park in July (13), a year after civic bosses pulled the plug on The Boss while he was performing an encore with McCartney after the show’s designated end time.
The band previously faced a fine for starting a show at London’s O2 Arena 30 minutes late during their comeback concert run last year (12), but frontman Sir Mick Jagger is adamant there won’t be a repeat at Hyde Park.
He tells the Los Angeles Times, “They have a curfew everywhere. I can’t believe they even have curfews on indoor shows. Some of it has to do with subway travel, and if your show runs over, people get stuck and can’t get home, and that’s not nice to the audience.
“To be honest, they have very strict curfews a lot of places in Europe. There’s a rigid curfew at Wembley Stadium (in London) that we’ve run into before. But Hyde Park is right in the middle of town, and you’ve got a lot of moanie (sic) people around you.”
