Director Ron Howard‘s pride for his actress daughter Bryce Dallas Howard proved to be problematic when he accidentally revealed her casting in Jurassic World before studio bosses confirmed the news.
The highly-anticipated sequel to the dinosaur adventure franchise hits cinemas in the U.S. this month (Jun15), but last year (14) fans of the film series were still speculating on who would take the lead in the fourth installment, Jurassic World.
During the annual Golden Globes prizegiving in January last year (14), the Oscar-winning director posted a snap of his daughter alongside Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt on Twitter.com, and essentially confirmed the two for the feature film.
Howard added the caption, “Bryce and Chris meet for the 1st time on red carpet they will be co-stars in next Jurassic.”
But in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bryce reveals her father had no idea the casting wasn’t confirmed and released to the public when he posted the snap.
She says, “My dad and I went to a Golden Globes party together and we happened to bump into Chris. And nothing was set yet. He wasn’t confirmed for the movie. My dad took a picture of us together and then he tweeted, ‘Bryce and Chris are in Jurassic together’.”
“He comes back and he was just like, ‘Um, there’s a lot of news outlets picking up on this tweet… was it not announced yet?’ (I said) ‘No it wasn’t, dad. It wasn’t announced.’ Oh man. You gotta watch out for a proud parent on Twitter.”
