Rose McGowan has revealed she had sex with a “prominent” Hollywood figure when she was 15.
The actress, who alleges producer Harvey Weinstein raped her in a hotel at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in 1997, has now come forward with another claim of Hollywood harassment during an interview with Woody Allen’s estranged newsman son Ronan Farrow at New York City’s 92Y community center.
The former Charmed star, who is now 44, told the journalist and broadcaster she was assaulted as a teenager by a “very famous” Hollywood player who then dumped her on a street corner.
“This man picked me up when I was 15 years old,” she recalls. “He took me home after he met me and he showed me a soft porn movie he had made for Showtime, under a different name. And then he had sex with me.
“In my mind, playing it back, I had been attracted to him, so I always filed it away as a sexual experience. I don’t have a normal trajectory.”
She credited Farrow’s expose on Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct in the New Yorker with helping her come to terms with what happened that night, adding, “That creep did this to a 15-year-old. It was not until two weeks after your story broke – our story, our world’s story – that I was in bed and I started saying, ‘Oh my God, I think that’s molestation’.”
But she told Farrow she’s not ready to identify the man who had underage sex with her, adding, “It’s a timing thing.”
