Rosie O’Donnell Finds Love with Woman 22 Years Her Junior

Rosie O’Donnell has found love with a woman 22 years her junior.

The 55-year-old comedien is trying something new by dating someone younger than her, and admitted during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Monday (06Nov17) that “it’s a very trippy thing”.

While Rosie didn’t reveal her new partner’s name, it’s believed that she was referring to girlfriend Rooney – after revealing her love’s name during a chat with fans on her personal website. Rooney, a policewoman from the Boston area, met Rosie at a charity event in the city, where the actress shoots her new series SMILF.

However, while dating someone younger has its advantages, there are also some downsides.
“I get along so well with her, it’s kind of fascinating,” she continued. “The one thing that she doesn’t know? (Barbra) Streisand. I made her watch Funny Girl. She’s like, ‘It was good.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, come on!'”

Things are moving fast for the couple, who have already told each other “I love you”.

“We’re lesbians. That’s like week two,” Rosie joked.

However, despite the strength of the bond between the pair, Rosie insisted she and her girlfriend will never tie the knot. She was previously married to Kelli Carpenter-O’Donnell from 2004 to 2007, with whom she had four children, and to Michelle Rounds from 2012 to 2016. Michelle, the mother of Rosie’s four-year-old son Dakota, died last September (17) at the age of 46 after apparently taking her own life.

“You knew Michelle, and that was a very troubled situation,” Rosie explained to host Stern. “I think that for me, being 55, I just think I would rather stay in it for love and not have to deal with lawyers if, God forbid, it shouldn’t work out.”
