The couple – who are now officially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – appeared on the terrace alongside Queen Elizabeth II and relatives of the bride and groom 90 minutes after their nuptials at London’s Westminster Abbey.
As hundreds of thousands of flag-waving well-wishers converged outside the palace gates and on The Mall below, the prince sparked a deafening cheer as he leaned in and kissed his blushing bride on the lips. Two minutes later, the couple kissed again.
The touching moment was reminiscent of his father Charles, Prince of Wales’ famous kiss with Diana, Princess of Wales on the same balcony 30 years earlier following their wedding in 1981.
