Russell Crowe is looking to take a role alongside David Oyelowo in upcoming film Arc Of Justice.

The Oscar-winning actor is eyeing up a lead part in the new adaptation of Kevin Boyle’s 2004 non-fiction book Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age, according to Variety.

Backed by the Mark Gordon Company and set to be directed by Narcos producer Jose Padilha, the film will centre on an incident which occurred in Detroit in 1925, whereby African-American physician Ossian Sweet was put on the stand for murder for defending his new home against a mob of white rioters.
