Russian punk stars land cameos on House of Cards – report

Pussy Riot rockers Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina have reportedly landed guest appearances on Kevin Spacey’s hit political drama House Of Cards. The Russian feminists, who were controversially imprisoned in 2012 for performing a protest song against President Vladimir Putin in a Moscow church, will make cameos in the third episode of the show’s upcoming third season, according to local Baltimore, Maryland publication CityPaper.com.
Details about the rockers’ guest roles have yet to be revealed, and a spokesperson for online streaming service Netflix, which airs the programme, has declined to comment on the report.
The new season of House of Cards is currently filming in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and is expected to debut early next year (15).
Tolokonnikova and Alekhina have become outspoken human rights advocates since walking free from prison in December (13) as part of a political amnesty.
They are currently suing Russian government officials in the European Court of Human Rights to demand compensation over their imprisonment.
