Ryan Adams apologises for cutting remarks on Mandy Moore marriage

Ryan Adams has apologised after joking that he could barely remember his wedding to Mandy Moore.
Mandy, 34, recently sat down for an interview with Glamour, saying she “didn’t choose the right person” when she tied the knot with the 43-year-old rocker in 2009. The couple ended their marriage in 2016.
Quoting an article about the interview on the Perez Hilton blog, Ryan claimed their interests were just too different, writing, “She didn’t like (the band) the Melvins or (the film) BladeRunner. Doomed from the start… If only I could remember the start lol.”
In a since-deleted tweet he also claimed to have been doped up on painkillers on their wedding day.
On Thursday (11Oct18), he apologised for his tweets, explaining them as an ill-conceived attempt to make light of their split.
“I apologize for my remarks,” he wrote. “I was trying to be funny. But I have and will always choose to remember the amazing moments. It isn’t classy or ok (to) lessen what was. I am happy for everyone and doing my best.”
The singer-songwriter’s fans also criticised Perez for causing him distress by highlighting Mandy’s dismissal of their marriage after the rocker posted a series of concerning tweets claiming that his emotional pain felt “like a heart attack”.
As well as absolving the celebrity blogger of any responsibility for his struggles with depression, Ryan, who has had past problems with drug addiction, thanked fans who expressed concern and told them he is seeking help.
“Thank you for the kind messages,” he added. I am speaking with a grief/crisis counsellor. apologize (sic) if I caused anyone any worry. Depression, anxiety/panic attacks & grief are very real and serious issues. If anyone is suffering I urge you seek help. And cats.”
Since her split from Ryan, Mandy has moved on with another musician, Dawes frontman, Taylor Goldsmith, who she is now engaged to.
