Ryan Adams hits back at Mandy Moore over marriage comments

Rocker Ryan Adams has fired back at ex-wife Mandy Moore for branding their marriage a “mistake”, insisting it was “doomed from the start”.
The This Is Us star opened up about the failed union in a candid Glamour magazine interview, in which she admitted to rushing into the 2009 nuptials as she grappled with the news that her mother was leaving her dad for another woman.
“I couldn’t control what happened to my immediate family, but I could control starting my own,” she said. “(It was) not the smartest decision. I didn’t choose the right person.”
Mandy also confessed she found herself “spiritually and fundamentally stuck” in the marriage, which ended in divorce in 2016, a year after their separation.
Her cutting comments about her relationship with Ryan haven’t gone unnoticed by the rocker, and he took to Twitter to respond to a headline on the Perez Hilton blog, which read: “@TheMandyMoore on failed first marriage to @TheRyanAdams: ‘I didn’t choose the right person'”.
“She didn’t like the Melvins or BladeRunner,” Ryan replied, claiming their interests were just too different to begin with.
He then suggested the relationship wasn’t very memorable, adding, “Doomed from the start… If only I could remember the start lol (laugh out loud)”.
Mandy has yet to comment on Ryan’s insult, but she has since found love again – she is engaged to another musician, Taylor Goldsmith.
“I can imagine no better partner…,” she gushed about her fiance to Glamour. “I would gladly weather all of that (past relationship woes) a million times over if it brought me to Taylor again.”
The couple began dating shortly after her 2015 split from Ryan, and the Dawes frontman proposed last year (17).
