Ryan Phillippe returning to TV roots in drama series remake

Actor Ryan Phillippe is in talks to return to his TV roots to star in a U.S. adaptation of upcoming Australian series Secrets & Lies. The show, featuring New Zealand actor Martin Henderson, has yet to premiere Down Under, but that hasn’t stopped producers at America’s ABC network from picking up the rights for a 10-episode remake.
Phillippe is in final negotiations to take on Henderson’s role as a father who becomes a murder suspect after finding the body of a young boy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Crash star previously appeared in Glenn Close’s legal thriller Damages in 2012, while he broke into acting with a part in the longrunning TV soap One Life to Live in the early 1990s.
