Samuel L. Jackson has appealed to movie bosses to resurrect his Star Wars character so he can appear in the upcoming franchise reboot.
The Pulp Fiction star joined the Jedi as Mace Windu, appearing in the three prequel films before his character met a nasty end in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
The sci-fi franchise is set to make a return to the big screen with backing from Disney after creator George Lucas sold his LucasFilm production company to the family film giant last year (12), and Jackson wants to be a part of the action.
He says, “I’d love to be a part of that. I think it’d help people come back to the franchise, to have some familiar characters before they start introducing all the new ones.”
Jackson is also convinced his character’s re-appearance could be easily explained, adding, “I don’t know why I’d have to be a ghost. I’m a Jedi! I fell out of a window and they took my hand off. I could show up as a one-handed Jedi – alive!”
