Lady Bird star Saoirse Ronan has committed to reading the Harry Potter books after developing a crush on Daniel Radcliffe’s character in the films.
The Irish actress admits she has only just started to read J.K. Rowling’s Potter books after getting hooked on the film franchise.
“Don’t judge me for this, but I’m actually only starting to read the books,” she tells InStyle. “When the films came out, they were so good, I thought, ‘I’ll just watch those’.”
Her interest in all things Potter piqued following a trip to Harry Potter World with actress pal A.J. Michalka.
“It was a magical day,” she recalls. “I got a wand and a Gryffindor jumper… I actually did take the test, and I am (House) Gryffindor.”
And Ronan reveals that if she could summon up a little magic herself, she’d like to create instant tea without the need to boil a kettle: “If there was a spell that could just magic a cup of tea in front of me at the drop of a hat (that would be great),” she smiles.
