Sarah Hyland has called out reporters for questioning whether she’s had plastic surgery in an article.

The Modern Family actress previously opened up about the difference in her appearance earlier this year (17), when she insisted she was not suffering from an eating disorder, but had actually been very sick. She did not disclose what illness she was suffering from, but admitted she was on medication that made her face appear swollen.

On Wednesday, Life & Style magazine posted an article on its website in which a reporter compared old and new photos of Sarah and questioned whether she’d gone under the knife, alongside comments from experts, and Sarah called them out for it on Twitter.

“I have had the worst medical year of my life and to create an entire article surrounding the question of if I’ve had plastic surgery is the MOST insulting thing,” she wrote. “Adding insult to injury. You have NO IDEA what I have been through. And I have somewhat addressed these rumors already.

“People like you are the reason why young girls feel the need to alter their face. MY face has been altered by LIFE SAVING medication. Take your ‘journalism’ and use it for some good. FOR ONCE.”
The editors later updated the article and Sarah shared the headline and added, “Hey @Life_and_Style why don’t you just delete the article about how different I look over the past 10 yrs instead of deleting ‘drs’ (doctors) comments.”

The 26-year-old star then shared a selfie which showed her wearing a face mask and said she was getting “some work done tonight”, and posted a video in which she called their article “fake news”.

“I would like to say for those who think I’m like hurt or sad by this article. Uh-uh, it’s fine,” she said in another video. “I expect dumba*ses to write dumba*s articles. My only thing is: you come for me, I come for you. I’m so beautiful right now, God, all my plastic surgery really paid off.”

After she had removed the face mask, she posted another video asking the reporters if they could see any plastic surgery on her make-up free face, and added, “I’m sorry, I’ve been a little bit salty. It’s like the comedy was there, I had to take it. I love a good bit.”

She finished by apologizing to Life & Style’s social media person and suggesting they take the day off.
