Actress Sarah Paulson has snapped up the Hollywood Hills house her American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts used to call home.

The 42-year-old reveals she purchased the three-bedroom pad, her first property, off the market late last year (16) after learning Emma was interested in moving on – and she wasted no time in getting the paperwork started.

“I think Emma was doing Scream Queens at the time and I was still doing American Horror Story, and I was standing with one of the producers, who is a friend of Emma’s as well, and she texted very casually, ‘Oh, I want to sell my house,'” Sarah recalls to Architectural Digest. “I don’t think she was that serious.

“I was sitting there and I said to him: ‘Tell her right now I want to go see that house!’ And it happened very, very quickly, and I’m not 100 per cent sure she really wanted to do that, but it’s too late now!”
Sarah has since started major renovations both inside and outside the 1949 property to suit her own tastes, but she no longer has to worry about the structural aspect of having a swimming pool installed in her backyard after discovering a hidden one already exists.

“It turns out there is a pool already underneath the ground!” she shares. “I just saw (Emma) the other day and I’m like, ‘Did you know you had a pool under there?’ She was like, ‘What? I would have charged you so much more money!'”

Paulson’s renovations are not expected to be completed until late November (17), but once her home is ready, she is planning to make full use of the pool area.

“The cast pool parties will be at my house…, but it won’t be ready till Thanksgiving, so that’s the tragedy of that because I spent so much time doing the inside that I forgot I should be doing the outside, too,” she says. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll worry about that later…'”

“You live and you learn when you buy your first house and I’m trying to be comforted by the fact everyone says to me that this is par for the course,” she adds. “They just told me to be patient, and that’s not my strong suit.”
