Sarah Paulson was delighted after an eager fan recently mistook her for Claire Foy.
The actress has garnered a global following since appearing in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story in 2016, and was even named one of Time magazine’s most influential people of 2017.
However, Sarah revealed during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday (13Dec17) that she’s still often confused with other brunette celebrities, including actress Claire, who stars in Netflix show The Crown and biographical movie Breathe.
“I was on the phone the other day in the airport and a very nice girl came up to me and tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘I don’t want to interrupt you.’ And, of course, I thought, ‘Well, don’t interrupt me,'” she recalled. “But she said, ‘I just want to give you this.’ And it was a little cocktail napkin.”
On the napkin, the fan had written: “Hi, Ms. Foy, I think you’re the greatest actress.”
While Sarah instantly realized she had been mistaken for Claire, she decided to graciously thank the fan for the note and quickly explain that she was not, in fact, the 33-year-old Brit.
Accordingly, host Seth pointed out that Sarah, 42, should feel pleased to be confused with Claire as she is “very talented”, to which The Post star replied, “And she’s much younger than I am, so I’ll take it.”
