Sarah Paulson regrets shoplifting velvet bodysuit

Sarah Paulson regrets shoplifting a velvet bodysuit as a young woman.

The American Horror Story actress is currently promoting Ocean’s 8, the heist movie directed by Gary Ross, which follows a group of women who plan on robbing the Met Gala in New York City.

Sarah made an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night (07Jun18) alongside her co-stars Sandra Bullock and Awkwafina and during the chat, host James asked whether any of the women had ever stolen anything.

“I’ve done it once but I was too old to have done it. I stole a velvet bodysuit from a high-end clothing store on Columbus Avenue,” the 43-year-old confessed, adding that she was peer pressured to do so. “I just had a lot of popular friends and I felt like a big rube. So, I thought I had to do it to be cool. And I regret it to this day.”

James then questioned Sandra and Awkwafina, real name Nora Lum, if they had ever been tempted to thieve. They both then joked that they were fine with taking items from hotel rooms.

“My grandma called it shopping. You can lift the microwave or take the HDMI cables out of the DVD machines, because you need those,” smiled Awkwafina, while Sandra explained that she is fine with taking anything that isn’t nailed down. “It’s meant to be advertisement for the hotel – they want you to take it.”

Later in the chat, the trio discussed a number of topics, including how a rap song Awkwafina wrote got her fired from a publicity job in New York, how Sandra used to dance as an opening act for a drag show in North Carolina, and Sarah’s “mom dance” skills.

They also spoke about how James has a part in Ocean’s 8, with the presenter concluding the show with a clip set to Vitamin C’s classic song Graduation (Friends Forever) showing how he emotionally bid farewell to all of the feature’s stars, including Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett and Mindy Kaling, after filming had wrapped.
