Age is a big deal in Hollywood but not to Savages actor Aaron Johnson, 22, and his new wife Sam Taylor-Wood, 45.
The couple, who met on the set of Taylor-Wood’s John Lennon movie Nowhere Boy when Johnson was just a teen, got married Thursday (June 21) in England, according to the Associated Press.
They began dating shortly after filming wrapped in 2009, announced their engagement within months and had their first child, daughter Wylda in July 2010.
While they’ve faced criticism throughout their relationship, Johnson insists they’re meant to be together, no matter what the age gap. “I’m an old soul and she’s a young soul. We don’t see an age gap, we just see each other.”
The actor, who’s perhaps best known for his lead role in Matthew Vaughn’s movie Kick-ass, says that he may be young but he’s always wanted to start a family. He told Britain’s Radio Times, “For some having a family at my age is young. But it is something I am ready for and a family to me means a lot more than a career. Work should be around your life and not the other way around.
