Scorsese set for Critics’ Choice Movie Awards prize

The director will receive the Broadcast Film Critics Association’s second Critics’ Choice Music and Film Award, which recognises “an accomplished filmmaker” who uses music to heighten cinematic impact.

The Raging Bull director was picked for the honour in part due to his concert movies, including his recent documentary George Harrison: Living in the Material World.

Scorsese will accept the Music and Film Award at a ceremony at the Hollywood Palladium on 12 January (11), following in the footsteps of the 2011 inaugural winner Quentin Tarantino.
