Screenwriter Max Landis obtains restraining order

Screenwriter Max Landis has been granted a restraining order against a woman who has allegedly made threats against his life.
The Bright and American Ultra writer, the son of filmmaker John Landis, claims he met Agnes Barrios Laffitte at a Hollywood bar back in 2012, but she has since started sending him death threats.
In court papers obtained by The Blast, Max reveals she contacted him earlier this week (begs16Jul18) and made a series of worrying statements, suggesting she knows where he lives.
“you have two more weeks landis,” she reportedly wrote. “i will kill you. i have nothing to live for. i will sacrifice myself and go to jail for life (sic).”
He filed a complaint with Los Angeles police over the alleged harassment, and then lodged legal documents for a protective order.
“I am afraid for my safety,” he wrote.
Landis has since obtained a temporary restraining order and a civil harassment restraining order, preventing Laffitte from contacting him via social media and going within 100 yards (91.44 metres) of him. She must also avoid uttering his name in public, and delete all posts about him online, according to the outlet.
