Seal sued over alleged Botswana gig no-show

Seal has been sued by tourism officials in Botswana after allegedly pulling out of a gig.
The plaintiffs claim the Kiss From a Rose singer bailed on a concert at the Botswana Sports Arena in early 2018 and refused to return his advance payment.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, bosses at the Botswana Tourism Organisation claim they paid Seal $340,000 (£260,000) for the show – and now they want their cash back.
The BTO officials allege they fell out with Seal shortly after announcing the gig in February, 2018, when he made it clear he was unhappy that his name and photo were not larger than the other performers on the bill in a print ad.
BTO deleted the ad and sent a new one to his booking agents at Complex Entertainment for approval. They responded by terminating the deal.
Without Seal, the tourism bosses were forced to cancel the gig.
They are suing for breach of contract and demanding the return of their advance, plus additional damages.
