Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs donates $200,000 to Ugandan healthcare centre

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has donated $200,000 (GBP145,200) to a maternal healthcare facility in Uganda.
The money will benefit the Unforgettable healthcare campaign, which is working to expand and improve the Suubi ‘Hope’ Health Center, according to RollingStone.com.
Combs’ protege French Montana helped launch the campaign after teaming up with organisers at non-profit Mama Hope and Global Citizen while shooting his Unforgettable video in Kampala.
“I’ve always said my purpose is to inspire and empower the next generation to become great leaders – and to honor their hustle along the way,” Combs explains. “In addition to passing the torch to French, I’m showing my support for the work he is doing in Uganda.”
The rap star’s partners in his Ciroc vodka venture are donating $100,000 to support Mama Hope and Diddy is matching the amount “so that our stories and successes can benefit as many people as possible”.
French Montana and The Weeknd have also donated $100,000 (GBP72,600) to the initiative. The funds will go towards building a prenatal care clinic, a birth house, buying a new ambulance, and other improvements.
Combs is also showing his support for the campaign by recording a public service announcement.
“It’s important to give back, it’s important to be an agent of change,” he says in the PSA. “That’s a core part of being down with the Bad Boy (record label) family.”
Last year (17), Montana also organised the Unforgettable Dance Challenge and urged fans to show off their moves to the track on social media to raise awareness and additional donations for Mama Hope.
