Sean Kingston begs judge to drop warrant and re-open jewellery case – report

Sean Kingston has reportedly asked a judge to drop a warrant for his arrest and asked for a retrial in an ongoing jewellery case.
In December (16), the singer was ordered to pay Haimov Jewelers in Florida $44,000 (£35,000) over an outstanding bill for a Rolex watch and a diamond bracelet, but he has allegedly failed to do so.
According to editors at TMZ there is now a warrant for the Take You There singer’s arrest. However, the website adds that Sean has filed new legal documents in which he has claimed he did not know about the outstanding payment.
Sean apparently said he was confused and thought the papers were for another case, and was “regretful” that he had not taken responsibility for the money he owed.
In the documents, Sean asked for a new trial so he can give evidence on his behalf. The rapper confessed he has been representing himself “due to financial efficiency” and claimed he has had health issues after allegedly being assaulted and robbed.
The singer also claimed he returned some of the jewellery to Haimov Jewelers and had wanted to set up a payment plan to pay off the debt, but the company had refused his offer and wanted full payment up front.
TMZ have reportedly spoken to Haimov Jewelers to clarify this but the company have claimed that the rapper hasn’t attempted to contact them or return any of the items he purchased.
This is not the first time the rapper has had a jewellery lawsuit bought against him. According to TMZ, Executives of Norman Silverman Diamonds filed legal action against the Beautiful Girl singer in June, 2013, claiming he didn’t pay for a $46,000 (£37,000) Rolex from them.
In 2016, he was also sued by bosses at Aqua Master for allegedly sending them cheques to pay more for nine pieces of expensive jewellery which failed to clear.
