"Tupac: Resurrection" Movie Still: Tupac ShakurParamount Pictures/Syndicated by: Paramount Pictures

A second biopic about the late Tupac Shakur is set to be developed by the rapper’s cousin. Filmmaker John Singleton is working with the Dear Mama hitmaker’s mother, Afeni Shakur, on a long-awaited movie about the late hip-hop icon, and now his cousin William Lesane reveals he is planning to turn his script for The Rise And Fall Of Makavelli The Don into a feature film.

Lesane has raised $15 million (£9.4 million) for the project and plans to shoot it in New Mexico. He says, “The time has come to tell the real Tupac Shakur story, the movie his fans really want to see. Any movie that is produced about Tupac has to tell a truly great story with a bold statement attached. Our movie does that in spades… I lived this story with my cousin and paid tremendously for it.”
