Seth Meyers becomes a father of two

Seth Meyers is now a father of two, after wife Alexi Ashe gave birth to the couple’s second son in the lobby of their apartment building.
The TV host and comedian announced the happy news on the Monday night (09Apr18) edition of his late-night chat show Late Night with Seth Meyers, revealing the pair had chosen the name Axel Strahl for the tot.
He also regaled the audience with the tale of how Axel had made his arrival, admitting that the baby couldn’t wait until his parents made it to the hospital before entering the world. Seth added that he wanted to thank the neighbours who put towels in the dryer to keep the baby warm until emergency services arrived, as well as the New York Police Department, who helped cut the umbilical cord when they arrived just after the little boy.
“I called 911 and over the course of a minute conversation, I said, ‘We’re about to have a baby – we’re having a baby – we had a baby,” Seth joked about the speed of the birth.
Showing a picture of him and Alexi with the baby on the floor of the lobby, alongside a police officer, Seth began to grow emotional as he praised his wife for staying calm in the situation, but attempted to joke away the tears by saying: “I’m getting choked up thinking about how brave I was.”
Explaining the tot’s moniker, Seth said his middle name was inspired by Alexi’s grandparents, who met in Austria in a hospital the day after being liberated from a concentration camp.
Seth and Alexi are also parents to son Ashe Olsen Meyers, who was born in March 2016.
