Shania Twain will never have a more embarrassing experience than the time she peed herself during a high school performance.
The Canadian country star’s stage fright was so bad when she was a teenager she would have to fight the need to relieve herself onstage, and she just couldn’t hold back during one 1981 gig.
“When I was a teenager, I got up in front of my peers – you know, a bunch of 16-year-olds, in front of the school – and I literally peed myself,” she said during a Tuesday night (18Apr17) appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
“When I stood up, it just came out, and thankfully I had a glass of water at my feet, and I knocked it over to hide the puddle.”
After losing her voice and battling a cheating scandal and divorce from her husband and songwriting partner, Mutt Lange, Shania is plotting her chart comeback following a successful run of gigs in Las Vegas.
Her first album in 15 years will be released at the end of 2017 after Shania performs at the Stagecoach country music festival in California on 29 April (17).
Twain had planned to release new music in February and announced her comeback album would be released in May (17), but that all stalled, and now the project is on hold for the autumn (17).
