Shania Twain recruits John Travolta for future Christmas album

Country superstar Shania Twain has booked a date in the recording studio with John Travolta for her first Christmas album.
The You’re Still the One hitmaker befriended Travolta last year (17) while filming their upcoming movie Trading Paint, and now Shania wants to bring the Grease star into her world by laying down vocals for a festive duet.
“We did a movie together – well, he invited me to his movie – and so I want to do a Christmas album, I just decided that this week,” she told U.S. breakfast show Today, “so… I texted him and said, ‘Will you come and be on the album…?’ And he said, ‘Sure.'”
The singer has “written a few songs” for the holiday project, and although she has yet to choose the perfect track for the collaboration, she’s excited at the prospect of working with Travolta once again.
“That (which song) was one of his first questions…,” Shania recalled of their conversation. “I said, ‘Well, it’s in the really early stages, I just decided I wanted to do a Christmas album! So I don’t know yet, what song.”
Shania is thought to be planning a 2019 release for the festive collection, which she suggests will include original material in addition to Christmas classics.
“I have written a few songs…,” she shared.
The album will mark the follow-up to her 2017 chart comeback Now, which hit retailers 15 years after her last studio project, 2002’s Up!, but it won’t be her first time singing holiday tunes – she previously teamed up with Michael Buble for a 2011 cover of White Christmas, and collaborated with Nick Jonas last year (17) for Say All You Want for Christmas.
