Sharon Osbourne glad Kelly didn’t rush into marriage

Rock matriarch and reality TV regular Sharon Osbourne is glad her daughter Kelly didn’t rush down the aisle after becoming engaged to chef Matthew Mosshart last year (13) – because it was important for the couple to test their relationship first. The singer-turned-reality TV star announced she had broken off her relationship with the vegan chef on Wednesday (08Jan14), a year after accepting his proposal, and her mum is grateful her daughter isn’t getting divorced.
Sharon insists the former couple will remain close after both parties realised they weren’t ready for marriage.
Addressing the break-up news on her U.S. chat show The Talk on Thursday (09Jan14), Osbourne said, “I can’t talk for my daughter (but) Matthew is a lovely guy. They had two great years together of fun and love and for me, that’s why engagements are so important…
“They are a test run (for marriage), aren’t they? And so it didn’t work for whatever reason, but they are still good friends and will continue to be; it’s just not right for them right now.”
And she then made light of her daughter’s dating life, adding, “Let the auditions begin!”
Kelly Osbourne, 29, met the chef at Kate Moss’ 2011 wedding – Mosshart’s sister Alison is a bandmate of the British supermodel’s husband, rocker Jamie Hince.
She was previously engaged to wed model Luke Worrall.
