Shaun the Sheep Movie sequel in the works

Director Richard Starzak is returning to the Shaun The Sheep Movie franchise for a sequel.
The original Oscar-nominated movie, based on the popular children’s TV show, grossed $106 million (£87 million) worldwide upon its release in 2015.
Now a sequel is being made, with Starzak taking charge of the second film, having previously teamed up with Mark Burton.
Producer Paul Kewley will also be involved once again, with production on the kids’ movie set to begin in January (17).
“Shaun’s move to the big screen proved such a success with audiences around the world that he and the flock are very excited to be embarking on another big screen adventure,” David Sproxton, co-founder and Executive Chairman at Aardman Animations, said in a statement.
“Aardman is partnering with StudioCanal once again to produce another rip-roaring comedy, featuring Shaun and the rest of the gang in a story that takes them to even greater heights of lunacy.”
Ron Halpern, executive Vice President of international productions and acquisitions for StudioCanal, also shared his excitement at bringing the lovable farm animal back to the silver screen having “cherished” working on the first feature.
Fans first met Shaun the Sheep in the Wallace and Gromit episode, A Close Shave, created by Aardman and Nick Park. The company is currently working with the animator on prehistoric comedy Early Man, with Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne voicing the character of caveman Dug.
