Sheen recovering from hernia treatment at home

The troubled actor was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Thursday (27Jan11) after complaining of abdominal pain, caused by a hiatal hernia.

Sheen was treated for the condition, caused when the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm, and is now recovering at his California home after being discharged from the medical centre on Thursday night.

His publicist, Stan Rosenfield, insists the star’s work schedule has not been affected by the health problem as Two and a Half Men has been on hiatus for the week (begs24Jan11). Filming will resume on Tuesday and Sheen will be back on set as scheduled.

In a statement released on Friday (28Jan11), Rosenfield says, “Charlie Sheen left the hospital last night and is at home. He will be on the set of Two and a Half Men on Tuesday.”

It’s been a trying few months for Sheen – he was hospitalised for an “adverse allergic reaction” to medication in October (10) and treated for an ear infection earlier this month (Jan11).
